Washington State law gives Port Districts the responsibility for local economic development.

The goal of the elected Port of Bremerton Commission is to make the Port a contemporary, efficient, cost effective provider of business and recreation facilities. The Port Commissioners and staff take pride in the stewardship of local revenue and provision of facilities and services necessary to enhance the economy of the Port District and Kitsap County.

How is the Port Spending Your Tax Dollars?
The Port’s mission is economic development.

Limited tax dollars are used to build infrastructure, buildings, facilities and programs for businesses that in turn employ people, who then spend their money in the community. The Port strives to keep operating costs as low as possible without sacrificing maintenance of facilities. Our long-term goal is to reduce reliance on taxes to cover operations and use those dollars to provide capital improvements for the Port and the community.
